WINTER SOLSTICE INSIGHTS 2026

Winter Solstice marks the beginning of the Wheel of the Year and is the perfect time for reflection, manifestation, rebirth and renewal in preparation for the year ahead.

WINTER SOLSTICE INSIGHTS 2026

Following the Wheel of the Year means noticing the natural world around us, giving thanks to the earth and existing with her - being in tune with her seasons and the constant cycle of life, death and rebirth that exists in all  elements of nature.

In 2026, the Winter Solstice carries an especially potent energy. Not only does it mark the return of the light, but it also arrives within a Universal Year 1... A year of initiation, renewal, and new possibilities. Together, these energies offer a rare opportunity to consciously close one chapter and step forward into another with intention and clarity.

As the darkness reaches its peak, we are reminded that every ending contains the seed of a beginning. This is a time to release what no longer aligns with your highest path: outdated beliefs, limiting stories, stagnant emotions, and energetic ties that drain your vitality. Through intentional release, we create space for new dreams, opportunities, and ways of being to emerge.

The Solstice teaches us that growth does not always happen in the light. Sometimes transformation requires rest, reflection, and surrender. By honouring this sacred pause, we align ourselves with nature's wisdom and the eternal cycle of death, rebirth, and renewal.

As you perform this ritual, allow yourself to acknowledge all that you have carried throughout the past year. Offer gratitude for the lessons, the challenges, the joys, and the growth. Then, with courage and compassion, release what no longer serves you.

YOU WILL NEED:

- A sheet of paper.
- A wooden pencil.
- A match, or lighter.
- An old pot, or bowl of any kind to safely burn the paper

It is best to perform this practice away from anywhere you eat or sleep. To refrain from dispersing the toxic Qi back into your atmosphere. This should be done in a private area where you can fully express yourself.

When you feel ready, write your innermost feelings, emotions and opinions about what is most troubling on your mind. Do not worry about spelling or grammar, as this is not meant to be kept or read.

When you feel satisfied expressing everything you want on paper, place the paper in the old pot/or bowl - and gently set it alight.

Let the pot cool before burying the ashes near a healthy tree. If you cannot immediately bury the ashes, throw sea salt into the pot after it has cooled, cover it with a black cloth, and place it away - somewhere private where it cannot be found or touched by anyone other than you. Aim to be rid of it, within a week - to avoid dense energy lingering too long.

When the ritual is complete, spend a few moments in stillness. Place your hands over your heart and reflect on what you wish to cultivate in the months ahead. What qualities do you want to embody? What intentions are ready to take root? What light are you being called to bring into the world?

The sun begins its return, and so do you.
